Ordering Birth, Marriage & Death Certificates
Do you need to obtain copies of birth, marriage and death certificates (BMD) for family members within the United Kingdom? If the answer is yes, then Ancestral Discovery can help you to do this.
There are two options available for BMD certificates:
Document Service:
If you already know the General Register Office (GRO) index reference number and can provide this to us, we can apply for the certificate(s) on your behalf. Equally, if we need to obtain a certificate(s) to validate our research and you have consented to us doing so, then again we will source the certificate(s) on your behalf and include it in the final closing report that we provide.
Document Search:
Charged at £25.00 per search plus the individual cost of each certificate ordered, this option is perfect if you are unsure of the date or place in which the event took place. Provide us with the name, and we will undertake a document search on your behalf and then order and provide a certified copy of the certificate(s) from the GRO.
* Unlike many other genealogy research service providers, we will only charge you the cost price of each certificate. Details on the GRO's current certificate costs can be found here (page opens in new window).
